Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups sweet milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Sift cornmeal, flour, and soda together; add sour milk, eggs, 1 cup of sweet milk, and sugar and mix.
  2. In a heavy, shallow baking dish, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared dish.
  4. Over the top, pour 1 cup of sweet milk.
  5. Bake for 50 minutes at 350°F.
  6. Cut into wedges and serve.
