Spinach Picante
Ingredients
- 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach ⓘ
- 4 Tbsp. butter ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. flour ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion ⓘ
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. spinach liquid
- 1/2 tsp. pepper ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 3/4 tsp. celery salt ⓘ
- 3/4 tsp. garlic salt ⓘ
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- 1 (8 oz.) jar jalapeno Cheez Whiz ⓘ
- 1 c. Pepperidge Farm seasoned stuffing (dry) ⓘ
Instructions
- Cook spinach; drain well.
- Reserve liquid.
- Melt butter and add flour, cooking until smooth but not brown.
- Add onion; cook until tender.
- Slowly add spinach liquid and milk.
- Cook until smooth.
- Add seasonings and cheese, stirring until cheese melts. Add spinach and stir.
- Put into a 2-quart casserole dish; top with stuffing crumbs.
- Bake for 25 minutes at 325°.
- Serves 4 to 6.
