Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 egg
  • 4 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the dry yeast in hot water and let it sit until foamy.
  2. Melt the margarine and pour it into the yeast water mixture.
  3. Add sugar to the mixture and stir until dissolved.
  4. Beat the egg and then add it to the mixture, blending well.
  5. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  6. Spoon the batter into a greased muffin pan.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
