Ingredients

  • half baked 9-inch pie shell
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups warm cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 tablespoons softened butter
  • dash of nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Line the pie pan with rolled out dough. Prick the dough all over with a fork and cover with foil and dry beans or pie weights.
  3. Bake for 5 minutes; remove the foil and bake for an additional 3 to 4 minutes or until it begins to brown.
  4. Remove from oven and reduce heat to 375°F.
  5. In a bowl, thoroughly mix the dark brown sugar, flour, and salt.
  6. Pour the mixture into the half-baked pie shell and spread evenly across the bottom.
  7. Bake at 375°F until the filling is set and golden, about 30 minutes.
