- Fry the bacon until crispy and save the bacon grease.
- Drain the French-style green beans and set aside.
- In a pan, combine the drained beans, vinegar, sugar, crumbled bacon, and 2 to 3 tablespoons of bacon grease.
- Cook with the lid on for 20 minutes.
- Remove the lid and cook until the liquid reduces to a syrup and is almost gone.
- Allow the beans to turn dark and serve once the syrup is thickened slightly.
