Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
  • 3/4 lb. sliced bacon
  • 3/4 lb. natural Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash of cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Place chopped onion on the bottom of the unbaked pie shell.
  2. Alternately layer cooked bacon and Swiss cheese on top of the onion in the pie shell.
  3. In a bowl, combine eggs, milk, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Pour the custard mixture slowly over the layered bacon and cheese in the pie shell.
  5. Bake until the custard has a custard-like consistency and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
