Ingredients

  • 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 10 (7-inch) flour or corn tortillas
  • 3 cups (12 oz.) shredded Cheddar or Jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. To make the sauce, combine crushed tomatoes, chili powder, and ground cumin in a bowl.
  3. Spread 1/4 cup of sauce in the bottom of a 9-inch round baking dish or pie plate.
  4. Place one tortilla on top of the sauce.
  5. Spread about 1/4 cup of sauce over the tortilla, covering it completely.
  6. Sprinkle about 1/4 cup of shredded cheese over the sauce.
  7. Repeat the layers with remaining tortillas, sauce, and cheese, ending with a layer of cheese on top.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  9. Cut into wedges, serve on plates, and pour any remaining sauce over the tortilla wedges.
