Ingredients

  • 4 medium carrots
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup peas (frozen)
  • 1/3 cup salted cashews

Instructions

  1. Cut the carrots into 2-inch pieces.
  2. Heat margarine in a heavy saucepan with a lid.
  3. Add the carrots, sugar, salt, and water to the saucepan.
  4. Cover and steam the mixture for 10 minutes.
  5. Be careful not to burn the carrots.
  6. Add the frozen peas and steam for another 2 minutes.
