Ingredients

  • 2 lb. stew meat
  • potatoes
  • carrots
  • onion
  • 1 small can tomatoes
  • beef or chicken bouillon

Instructions

  1. Dredge the stew meat in flour with salt and pepper, then brown the meat in a skillet.
  2. Bring water to a boil in a large pot.
  3. Add the browned meat to the boiling water.
  4. Simmer the meat for 4 to 5 hours or until tender.
  5. Add quartered potatoes, carrots, onion, and a small can of tomatoes to the stew.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, and add a couple of packages of beef bouillon if desired.
  7. Continue simmering until the vegetables are tender and flavors meld.
