Stina Bars
Stina Bars are rich, crunchy treats with a buttery caramel base topped with melted chocolate and nuts, perfect for sharing at parties or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Spray a large jelly roll pan with Pam cooking spray.
- Line the pan with foil.
- Spray the foil with Pam.
- Line the foil with a single layer of saltine crackers.
- In a saucepan, melt butter or margarine and light brown sugar until well blended.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and boil for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and stir in baking soda.
- Spread the caramel mixture evenly over the crackers, pressing crackers back down if needed.
- Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
- Spread chocolate chips over the hot caramel layer and let stand until melted.
- Use the back of a spoon to spread the melted chocolate evenly over the pan.
- Sprinkle with finely chopped nuts.
- Chill until set, then cut into squares.
