Tips & Substitutions

For smoother yams, consider using a potato ricer instead of mashing. If you don’t have apple juice, you can substitute with orange juice for a different flavor profile. To cut down on sugar, try using a sugar substitute or reducing the brown sugar by a quarter. This dish is also fantastic as a topping for your favorite Vegetable Dip Or Potato Topper.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Sunshine Yams as a delightful side dish for roasted meats or a festive holiday meal. They pair beautifully with American recipes like glazed ham or turkey. For a complete meal, consider adding a fresh salad or steamed vegetables on the side to balance the rich flavors.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes or until warmed through. You can also microwave individual portions, covering them to retain moisture.
