Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Butter a 9-inch pie plate and fill it with peeled and sliced apples.
  2. Mix sugar and cinnamon together.
  3. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the apples.
  4. In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
  5. Add the egg and flour; mix well.
  6. Drop the batter over the apples and spread it evenly.
  7. Sprinkle chopped nuts over the top.
  8. Bake in a 350°F oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
  9. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
