- Combine bread crumbs, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons of sugar in a large bowl.
- Spread the mixture on a baking sheet and toast in a 375°F oven until light brown, stirring once or twice.
- Beat the whipping cream with confectioners sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- In a 2-quart clear glass bowl, layer 1/3 of the toasted crumbs, 1/2 of the cinnamon applesauce, 1/2 of the almonds, and 1/2 of the whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers, ending with the remaining 1/3 of the crumbs on top.
- Cover and chill the pudding for at least 2 hours.
- Spoon into dessert dishes and top with warm, melted jam (such as red raspberry).
