Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup ground walnuts or pecans
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Cut the butter and margarine into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add the egg yolk and sour cream; mix and form into a ball.
  3. Wrap the dough in wax paper and chill for at least 4 hours.
  4. Mix the sugar, ground walnuts or pecans, and cinnamon to make the filling mixture.
  5. Divide the chilled dough into three equal parts.
  6. Roll each portion into a circle, like a pie shell.
  7. Sprinkle each rolled-out dough with the sugar and nut mixture.
  8. Cut each circle into wedges and roll each wedge up like a crescent roll.
  9. Place the rolled crescents on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  10. Bake at 375°F for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. While warm, drizzle a powdered sugar glaze over the top.
