- Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.
- Scald milk, add butter and sugar to melt, then cool to lukewarm.
- Add egg and yeast mixture to the milk mixture.
- Gradually add flour until dough is workable.
- Flour the table and knead the dough for 5 to 10 minutes until soft and satiny.
- Put dough in a greased large bowl.
- Cover and let rise for at least 2 hours.
- Punch down the dough and form into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased pan.
- Let rise another 2 hours.
- Bake at 400°F for approximately 20 minutes until tops are browned.
