Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
  • 3/4 c. lukewarm milk, scalded and cooled
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. Better for Bread flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.
  2. Scald milk, add butter and sugar to melt, then cool to lukewarm.
  3. Add egg and yeast mixture to the milk mixture.
  4. Gradually add flour until dough is workable.
  5. Flour the table and knead the dough for 5 to 10 minutes until soft and satiny.
  6. Put dough in a greased large bowl.
  7. Cover and let rise for at least 2 hours.
  8. Punch down the dough and form into rolls.
  9. Place rolls in a greased pan.
  10. Let rise another 2 hours.
  11. Bake at 400°F for approximately 20 minutes until tops are browned.
