Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider substituting brown sugar for granulated sugar in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. You can also experiment with different pie fillings or jams to customize the taste. If you want a more decadent treat, drizzle a vanilla glaze over the top after baking. This dish is a delightful addition to any brunch, especially alongside a fresh Crunch Salad.

Serving Suggestions

Sweet Posies are perfect for breakfast or dessert, served warm with a side of fresh fruit or whipped cream. They also pair beautifully with a cup of coffee or tea. Consider serving them alongside Ms. Santa's Zucchini Bread for a delightful brunch spread that showcases both sweet and savory options.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, refrigerate them for up to a week. To reheat, place them in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes until warmed through, ensuring they retain their crispness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use homemade biscuit dough instead of refrigerated biscuits?

Absolutely! Homemade biscuit dough will provide a fresher taste and can be customized to your liking. Just ensure the dough is rolled out to a similar thickness as store-bought biscuits for even baking.

What can I use instead of pie filling?

If you don’t have pie filling, any type of fruit jam or preserves works well. You can also use fresh fruit, like berries or diced apples, mixed with a bit of sugar and cornstarch for a quick alternative.

Can I freeze Sweet Posies?

Yes, you can freeze the unbaked Sweet Posies. Assemble them up to the baking step, then place them on a baking sheet to freeze individually. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer bag. Bake directly from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.
