Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups margarine, softened
  • 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 can (16 oz.) pumpkin
  • 1 package chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine flour, oats, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Cream margarine; gradually add brown sugar and sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  5. Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
  6. Alternate additions of dry ingredients and pumpkin, mixing well after each addition.
  7. Stir in chocolate chips.
  8. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  9. Bake until lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
