Ingredients

  • pickles
  • onion slices
  • celery pieces
  • heads of dill
  • 1 qt. vinegar
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 1/2 c. water

Instructions

  1. Cut pickles into 1-inch chunks.
  2. To each jar, add 3 to 4 slices onion, 2 pieces celery, and 2 heads of dill.
  3. Dissolve sugar and salt in vinegar and water; bring to a boil.
  4. Pour the hot mixture over the pickles and seal the jars immediately.
  5. Allow the pickles to cure for at least 30 days before consuming.
