Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. oil
  • 1 can pumpkin
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts

Instructions

  1. Cream oil and sugar.
  2. Add eggs.
  3. Add pumpkin; stir well.
  4. Mix soda and spices together.
  5. Stir into pumpkin mix.
  6. Add flour and water alternately.
  7. Stir in nuts.
  8. Pour into two 1-pound greased and floured pans.
  9. Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool and refrigerate for moisture.
