Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies
  • 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. shell macaroni, cooked and drained

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown ground beef and onion over medium heat; drain.
  2. Add water, taco seasoning, and tomato sauce; mix.
  3. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Stir in cooked macaroni, chopped green chilies, and 1 1/2 cups cheese.
  5. Pour into a greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  7. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until heated through.
