Tips & Substitutions

For a creamier guacamole, consider adding a splash of sour cream or Greek yogurt. If you prefer a spicier kick, incorporate diced jalapeños into the guacamole mixture. Ground turkey can be used as a leaner alternative to beef. If you don't have Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce works well as a substitute. Browse more Mexican recipes for additional inspiration.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these Mexican burgers with a side of crispy sweet potato fries or a fresh corn salad for a complete meal. You can also offer a selection of toppings like shredded cheese, salsa, or jalapeños for guests to customize their burgers. For a delightful pairing, try them alongside Hot Refried Bean Dip.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover burgers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place the patties in a skillet over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until heated through. Alternatively, you can microwave them for about 1-2 minutes, but this may affect the texture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make these burgers ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the patties in advance and refrigerate them for up to 24 hours before grilling. This allows the flavors to meld. Just be sure to bring them to room temperature before cooking for even grilling.

What can I use instead of corn chips?

If you don't have corn chips, crushed tortilla chips or even breadcrumbs can work as a binder for the patties. They will provide a similar crunch and flavor profile, making them a suitable substitute in this recipe.

Are there vegetarian options for this burger?

Absolutely! You can replace the ground beef or turkey with a plant-based ground meat alternative or even black beans mashed with spices. This gives you a delicious vegetarian option that still packs flavor and protein.
