Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup wheaties
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 cup coconut

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening and sugars, add egg and vanilla.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and blend with shortening mixture.
  3. Add oats, Wheaties, nuts and coconut.
  4. Mix well. Drop by small spoonfuls on cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
