Texas Tuff Chili
Ingredients
- 2 lbs lean ground beef ⓘ
- 12 large red onion (chopped) ⓘ
- 2 garlic cloves (minced) ⓘ
- 4 jalapeno peppers (seeded and minced) ⓘ
- 1 small green bell pepper (finely chopped) ⓘ
- 1 celery rib (chopped) ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon oregano ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin ⓘ
- 3 tablespoons chili powder ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 12 teaspoon black pepper ⓘ
- 1 (16 ounce) can kidney beans (with liquid) ⓘ
- 1 (16 ounce) can black beans (with liquid) ⓘ
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce ⓘ
- 1 (29 ounce) can tomato puree ⓘ
Instructions
- In a large stock pot, brown the ground beef along with the onion and garlic.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and bring it to a boil.
- Once it boils, reduce the heat and simmer for an hour covered.
- Skim off any grease on the top.
