A hearty Thanksgiving casserole blending tender chicken, creamy soups, and buttery cornbread dressing for a comforting, savory dish perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 large chicken breasts
  • 1 package Pepperidge Farm cornbread dressing
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 stick margarine

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Stew the chicken breasts until fully cooked; do not sauté.
  3. Remove the cooked chicken from any bones and set aside.
  4. Reserve the cooking broth.
  5. Melt the margarine and stir it into the cornbread dressing.
  6. Grease a casserole dish and lay a layer of the dressing.
  7. Add a layer of the shredded or chopped chicken.
  8. Pour mushroom soup diluted with one can of the reserved broth over the chicken.
  9. Add another layer of dressing, then spread the remaining chicken.
  10. Pour cream of chicken soup diluted with one more can of the reserved broth on top.
  11. Top with the remaining dressing.
  12. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until the top is golden brown.
