Ingredients

  • 4 cups bread, cubed
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a casserole dish.
  2. Cube the bread.
  3. Heat the milk until scalding, then pour over the bread.
  4. Allow to cool slightly, then add melted butter, sugar, beaten eggs, salt, raisins, and cinnamon.
  5. Stir all ingredients together until well combined.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 to 45 minutes until set and golden.
  7. Serve warm or cold.
