Ingredients

  • 2 c. butter
  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 5 c. oats
  • 24 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 (8 oz.) Hershey bar, grated
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a blender or food processor, blend oats to a fine powder.
  2. Cream the butter, brown sugar, and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing thoroughly.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips, grated Hershey bar, and nuts if desired.
  7. Form the dough into balls and place them 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
