Soft, fluffy dinner buns with a hint of sweetness, perfect for family meals or picnics, featuring a rich honey and margarine flavor that appeals to all ages.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups lukewarm water
  • 2 packets quick rise yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Combine water and yeast in a large bowl.
  2. Add salt, sugar, honey, and one melted stick of margarine.
  3. Sift and stir in enough flour to make a very stiff dough.
  4. Let rise in a greased covered dish until doubled in bulk.
  5. Work down the dough on a well-floured surface, knead well, and shape into buns.
  6. Place into 2 large greased bread pans and top buns with remaining margarine.
  7. Let rise again until doubled in size.
  8. Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes.
