Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and soda together in a bowl.
  2. Heat buttermilk to lukewarm; add sugar and dry yeast to it.
  3. Let the mixture stand for 5 minutes to activate the yeast.
  4. Add oil or melted butter to the buttermilk mixture; stir well.
  5. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until well blended.
  6. Roll the dough on a floured surface and knead briefly.
