Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. frozen 3-cheese tortellini
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. chopped garlic
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. milk or cream
  • 1/4 c. red wine
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 to 2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 small can herbed tomatoes, diced

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Set aside.
  2. Saute chopped onion in olive oil and butter until transparent.
  3. Add chopped garlic; sauté and stir for a few minutes, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Add red wine; simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Add cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, diced herbed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
  7. Serve the sauce over the cooked pasta.
