Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 cup softened margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Add sifted powdered sugar, margarine, salt, and vanilla to a mixing bowl.
  2. Beat together until fluffy.
  3. Stir in sifted flour and finely chopped pecans into the mixture.
  4. Mix well and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  5. Shape the chilled dough into small balls and place them 3 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Press a small hole in the center of each ball with your thumb.
  7. Bake in a 350°F oven for about 15 minutes until lightly browned.
  8. After baking, fill the hollows with icing or jelly.
