Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 lb. milk chocolate bar
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. nuts, chopped well

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening and brown sugar together.
  2. Add egg yolk and vanilla.
  3. Add flour by hand (the mixture will be very heavy and dry). Grease a cookie sheet (a jelly roll pan works best), spread the dough in by hand, and pat down.
  4. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes until slightly brown.
