Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. olive oil
  • sliced onions
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. ground coriander
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 4 cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 whole chicken, cut up

Instructions

  1. Saute sliced onions and garlic in olive oil until fragrant and translucent.
  2. Add ground coriander, cumin, ginger, cloves, turmeric, and cayenne to the onions and garlic; cook for 1-2 minutes to toast the spices.
  3. Remove garlic slices from the mixture.
  4. Add chicken pieces to the spice mixture and fry for about 30 minutes, turning occasionally until cooked through and browned.
  5. Stir in chopped tomatoes and simmer for another 30 minutes to develop flavors.
  6. Just before serving, stir in the plain yogurt and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
