Ingredients

  • 2 cups macaroni
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 2 1/2 cups finely shredded reduced-fat sharp Cheddar cheese
  • tomato slices
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. In a bowl, mix together tomato sauce and pepper to taste.
  4. Lightly spray a baking dish with cooking spray.
  5. Combine cooked macaroni with the tomato sauce mixture.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Add tomato slices on top if desired.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 15-20 minutes.
