Ingredients

  • 2.5 lb. ground beef
  • 5.25 oz. chopped onions
  • 2 tsp. powdered garlic
  • 16 oz. tomato sauce
  • 6 oz. tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 5 oz. lasagna noodles
  • 1 egg
  • 12 oz. large curd cottage cheese
  • 12 oz. sliced Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 oz. chopped green pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. liquid Wesson oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to
  2. 375°.
  3. Put
  4. Wesson
  5. oil in 4 quart pan and brown ground
  6. beef, onion, green peppers and garlic.
  7. Cook until meat is
  8. brown
  9. and
  10. onions
  11. are
  12. clear.
  13. Now add tomato paste and black
  14. pepper.
  15. Simmer
  16. for
  17. 1
  18. hour. While sauce is cooking,
  19. get another pan to cook lasagna noodles. Add 3 cups water
  20. and salt to water; get water to boiling and put lasagna noodles in and cook until tender.
  21. Remove and drain.
  22. Grease a 3
  23. quart
  24. dish and after sauce is cooked, layer the following: Use
  25. half
  26. the noodles, half the meat sauce, half the cottage cheese,
  27. half
  28. the Mozzarella
  29. and
  30. half the Parmesan cheese. Repeat
  31. layers.
  32. Bake 30 minutes.
  33. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
  34. The only salt I have used in this is for cooking the noodles.
  35. You can salt to taste later, if needed.
