Ingredients

  • 1 lb. pork meat, cut in pieces
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 c. onions, chopped
  • 1/2 c. celery, chopped
  • 1/2 c. bell pepper, chopped
  • 6 large turnips, cut in pieces
  • 3 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/4 c. onion tops, chopped
  • 1/4 c. parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Brown pork in oil; remove.
  2. Add flour to oil for roux.
  3. Add water, seasonings and pork.
  4. Cook on low fire for one hour.
  5. Add turnips and cook for one-half hour.
  6. Add onion tops and parsley. Serve over rice.
