Ingredients

  • 1 box German Chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (14 oz) bag Kraft caramels
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Mix cake according to directions.
  2. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  3. Bake one half of cake mixture in a 350° oven for 15 minutes.
  4. In a saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with butter and evaporated milk.
  5. Remove cake from oven and pour sauce mixture over half-baked cake.
  6. Top with chocolate chips and pecans.
  7. Pour second layer of cake batter over the top and return to oven.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes at 350°.
