Ultimate Ham Cups
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter ⓘ
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour ⓘ
- 1 cup milk ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg ⓘ
- 1/8 teaspoon ground white pepper ⓘ
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper ⓘ
- salt to taste ⓘ
- 1 cup diced smoked ham ⓘ
- 1 cup diced smoked mozzarella cheese ⓘ
- 1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries ⓘ
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds ⓘ
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry dough, thawed ⓘ
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Melt 1/4 cup butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour until fully incorporated. Add milk; bring to a slow boil. Whisk until thickened, 3 to 5 minutes. Add nutmeg, white pepper, cayenne, and salt. Remove from heat and let filling cool slightly. Add ham, mozzarella cheese, cranberries, and almonds.
- Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured work surface. Brush lightly with melted butter. Cut into 9 equal squares. Stretch gently to enlarge and place squares, buttered side-down, into muffin cups. Divide filling evenly between the cups.
- Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Cool slightly.
