Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. butternut vanilla flavoring
  • 1 small can evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening, oleo, sugar, and salt together.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Add flour, alternating with evaporated milk mixed with water, ending with flour.
  4. Fold in chopped nuts.
  5. Grease and flour a tube pan.
  6. Start with a cold oven and bake at 325° for 2 hours.
  7. Do not open the oven door while baking.
