- Beat butter, eggs, and sugar until well blended.
- Add vanilla and stir to combine.
- Combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) and add to the wet mixture.
- Stir until well blended.
- Place the dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- Divide the chilled dough into 2 parts and roll each into a 1 1/2-inch diameter roll.
- Wrap each roll in waxed paper and refrigerate again.
- When ready, slice the dough into cookies and bake in a 350°F oven on a cookie sheet.
- Allow cookies to cool and then decorate as desired.
