Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F about 1 1/2 hours before serving or up to 1 week ahead.
  2. In a medium bowl, with a mixer at low speed, beat all ingredients until blended, occasionally scraping the bowl with a rubber spatula.
  3. Drop dough by 2 teaspoons about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  4. Bake cookies for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are browned.
  5. Remove cookies with a pancake turner.
