  3. Brown the veal on both sides, about 10 minutes in total, until the veal whitens.

  5. Add the remaining 1/2 stick of margarine to the skillet.

  7. Add a little water if you want more sauce.

Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using butter instead of margarine. If you're short on time, pre-marinated veal can be a great substitute. Make sure to not overcrowd the skillet to achieve a proper sear. Adjust the lemon juice to your taste, adding more for a tangier sauce. You can also sprinkle some red pepper flakes for a spicy kick, reminiscent of Mediterranean recipes.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Veal Piccante with a side of sautéed string beans or a light salad for a refreshing contrast. It also pairs beautifully with a creamy risotto or mashed potatoes to soak up the delicious sauce. For a complete meal, consider serving alongside Greek-Baked Lamb With Orzo for a delightful Mediterranean experience.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place the veal in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of water or broth to keep it moist. Cover the skillet to ensure even heating and prevent drying out, reheating until warmed through.
