Ingredients

  • 500 grams lamb mince
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 stock cube
  • 1 Tbsp mixed herbs
  • 1 Tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 600 grams potatoes
  • grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Peel, dice, and cook potatoes in boiling salted water until soft.
  2. Drain the potatoes and mash with butter and milk.
  3. Add cheese to the mashed potatoes to taste.
  4. In a large pan, lightly fry the onions, grated carrots, and crushed garlic until soft and onions are transparent.
  5. Add the lamb mince to the pan and cook until browned.
  6. Add the stock cube, mixed herbs, and tomato puree to the mince.
  7. Cook gently for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Transfer the lamb mixture to an oven-proof casserole dish using a slotted spoon to drain off excess fat.
  9. Cover the lamb mixture with the creamy mashed potatoes, sealing well at the edges, and create a rough top with a fork.
  10. Sprinkle grated cheese over the top and bake until golden and bubbling.
