Ingredients

  • pastry (enough for double crust pie, made with butter flavor Crisco)
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup minus 1/2 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Roll the pastry into a rectangle.
  2. Slice the butter and scatter pats all over the pastry.
  3. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  4. Roll the pastry as you would for a jelly roll, starting on the long side of the rectangle.
  5. Curve the roll around inside a greased 2 1/2-quart baking dish.
  6. Mix sugar, vinegar, and water.
  7. Pour the mixture over the roll.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes or until slightly browned and the syrup is bubbly and beginning to thicken.
