Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. basil
  • 1/2 gal. chicken stock
  • 1 (12 oz.) can diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 1/2 oz. vodka
  • 1 qt. heavy cream
  • 1/4 c. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1 lb. penne noodles
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté garlic in olive oil for 1 minute, taking care not to burn the garlic.
  2. Add vodka to the pan, then carefully light it with a match to flambé, watching that the flame does not get too high.
  3. Add chicken stock, heavy cream, basil, diced tomatoes with juice, and crushed red pepper. Heat the mixture until hot.
  4. Add the cooked penne noodles to the sauce, stirring to combine.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
