Ingredients

  • 1 chicken
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Boil chicken until tender and meat is falling off the bones. Save the broth.
  2. Combine flour, shortening, and milk to make the dough.
  3. Roll the dough into a thin sheet and cut into short strips.
  4. In a boiler, combine chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, and butter.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. Slowly add the strips of dough into the boiling broth.
  7. Reduce heat to simmer, cover, and cook for 40 minutes. Do not stir or peek.
