Ingredients

  • Step One
  • 1 large onion, coarsely chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, coarsely chopped
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2T olive oil
  • 3c button mushrooms , halved
  • Step Two
  • 1 lb extra lean ground meat
  • Step Three
  • 1 large can diced tomatoes
  • 1 large can tomato sauce
  • 1 large can tomato paste
  • 1 c. shredded carrots
  • 1 can red kidney beans, drained, well washed
  • 1 can mixed (or your favorite) beans, drained, well washed
  • 1/2 c crushed arame, wakame, or favorite sea vegetable
  • Step Four (These measurements range from mild to suicide... You decide)
  • 1-2 T salt or salt substitute/ Herbamare
  • 1tsp black pepper
  • 3-5 T chilli power

Instructions

  1. In large fry pan:
  2. Saute' all ingredients from Step One
  3. Add in and brown ground meat
  4. In extra large crock pot, combine:
  5. -all ingredients from step three
  6. -the saute'd mixture
  7. -listed spices of choice
  8. Cook on high for 2 hours.
  9. Add zuccini
  10. Check by taste for desired spiciness.
  11. Cook for another 2 hours (or more) on low.
  12. Serve with grated cheese, and crusty buns or toasted cheese bread
