Ingredients

  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 5 cups flour, sifted
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle yeast over warm water and let it activate.
  2. Mix milk, sugar, salt, eggs, half of the flour, and yeast in a bowl.
  3. Add shortening and beat on high for 5 minutes.
  4. Add remaining flour and stir with a spoon until mixed.
  5. Put dough into a greased bowl and place in the refrigerator overnight.
