Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Wesson oil
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 6 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons soda

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, oil, and eggs thoroughly with a mixer.
  2. Dissolve salt, baking powder, vanilla, and soda in buttermilk.
  3. Add the buttermilk mixture to the sugar, oil, and egg mixture and blend well.
  4. Add 6 cups of all-purpose flour and mix until smooth.
  5. Use a 1/4 cup measure to portion the dough onto baking sheets, placing 6 cookies per sheet.
  6. Sprinkle each cookie with sugar before baking.
  7. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 6 minutes until golden.
