Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups cold water
  • 7 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, sift the dry ingredients.
  2. Make 3 holes in this mixture. Add the oil, vinegar, and vanilla into the holes.
  3. Pour the cold water over the top and stir with a fork until well combined.
  4. Pour into a greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 to 40 minutes.
  6. Cool and frost as desired.
