Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. fresh white sage
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • crushed, roasted pinon nuts
  • 1/4 c. water (lukewarm)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. cottage cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine dry ingredients.
  2. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
  3. Blend in blender the egg, cottage cheese, butter and yeast water.
  4. Blend.
  5. Transfer into a large bowl.
  6. Gradually add flour mixture; knead until stiff dough is formed.
  7. Cover with a dry cloth and let rest in a warm place until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
